New Release: Cheech & Chong’s Hey Watch This DVD and Blu-ray

Cheech & Chong’s Light Up America Tour came to DVD and Blu-ray on April 20, 2010. Featuring Cheech Marin (Grindhouse) and Tommy Chong (TV’s That 70s Show), the documentary Hey Watch This was priced at $19.93 on DVD and $24.99 on Blu-ray.

Released by The Weinstein Company through Vivendi Entertainment, the film combines the comedy duo’s classic characters, jokes, songs and live performance footage. It was directed by Christian Charles, the helmer behind Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedian.

Cheech and Chong rose to fame in the late-70s/80s with such pot-smoking comedy movies as Up in Smoke, Nice Dreams and Still Smokin’. Later, they separated, and Cheech appeared in a number of movies, including Born in East L.A., Once Upon a Time in Mexico and Tin Cup, as well as the late-90s TV show Nash Bridges.

Chong also appeared in movies and TV shows, around a few years in jail after he plead guilty to selling bongs and water pipes online. His incarceration led civil rights acrtivists to start a Free Tommy Chong movement, saying Chong had been targeted unfairly.
