New Release: Thriller Complete Series DVD

The 1960s greatest horror anthology series finally made its digital debut with the Aug. 31, 2010, DVD release of Thriller: The Complete Series from Image Entertainment. It carries a suggested retail priced of $149.98.

Hosted by horror legend Boris Karloff, Thriller ran for two seasons, from 1960 to 1962, and featured tales from such master storytellers as Edgar Allan Poe, Robert Bloch and Cornell Woolrich.

All 67 episodes of the classic TV show have been remastered and are presented uncut in a 14-disc Deluxe Box set boasting such timely talents and future superstars as William Shatner, Leslie Nielsen, Rip Torn, Cloris Leachman, Mary Tyler Moore, Elizabeth Montgomery, Ursula Andress and, of course, Gilligan’s Island’s Russell Johnson and Natalie Schafer.

The DVD collection contains more than 50 hours of bonus features, which includes some 25 hours of audio commentaries from a variety of filmmakers and experts of today and yesterday. Among them are Arthur Hiller, Ernest Dickerson, Tim Lucas, Jim Wynorski and Craig Reardon.

Other supplements for the television series include 31 hours of isolated music and effects tracks for select episodes from composers Jerry Goldsmith and Morton Stevens, rare episode promos, extensive promotional and production still galleries and more.
