New Release: Passenger Side DVD

Strand Releasing issued the DVD of the 2009 independent comedy/drama film Passenger Side on Oct. 26, 2010, for a suggested retail price of $24.99.

Generally well-received by critics upon its limited theatrical release in Canada last spring, the movie was written and directed by Matthew Bissonnette (Who Loves the Sun). Its appealing cast includes Adam Scott (Knocked Up), Joel Bissonnette (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Robin Tunney (TV’s The Mentalist) and Gale Harold (TV’s Queer as Folk).

Passenger Side kicks off with 37-year-old Michael Brown (Scott) receiving a birthday phone call from his estranged brother Tobey (Bissonnette). In classic indie slice-of-life fashion, the siblings set off on a day-long odyssey across a wild and weird Los Angeles in search of Tobey’s “reason for living.” Behind the wheel of a beat up old BMW, fueled by chit-chat and an appropriate soundtrack, the two encounter a slew of bizarre characters and equally off-beat situations.

The Passenger Side DVD contains the following special features:

  • feature commentary with writer/director Matthew Bissonnette and actors Adam Scott and Joel Bissonnette
  • making-of featurette
  • Mac + Jim from Superchunk & Portastatic: Live at the Royal.
