New Release: Shrek Forever After DVD and Blu-ray

Shrek Forever After movie sceneDreamWorks Animation‘s Shrek Forever After, the supposed “final chapter” in the Shrek franchise, was released on DVD and Blu-ray in multiple versions on Dec. 7, 2010, through distributor Paramount Home Entertainment.

The animated family movie grossed $238.4 million in theaters — which makes us doubt there won’t be another Shrek film along the way — and, like the other Shrek films, boasts the voices of Mike Myers (Austin Powers), Eddie Murphy (Norbit), Cameron Diaz (Knight and Day), Antonio Banderas (The Legend of Zorro) and Julie Andrews (The Sound of Music).

In the PG-rated film, Shrek (Myers) misses the days when he was a real ogre, so he makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin (Conrad Vernon from Bee Movie) to get his roar back, but instead his world is turned upside down. Donkey (Murphy) can’t remember him, Fiona (Diaz) is a tough warrior princess and Puss in Boots (Banderas) is a fat cat. They have 24 hours to reverse the contract and get back to living happily ever after.

Shrek Forever After Double DVD boxShrek Forever After is available as a single Blu-ray, Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, single DVD, a Double DVD pack with Donkey’s Christmas Shrektacular and Shrek The Whole Story Quadrilogy four-movie packs on DVD and Blu-ray.

As well as available in the Double DVD Pack, the Christmas Shrektacular is available as a Blu-ray/DVD combo as well as in the Quadrilogy packs.
