New Release: Magic Man DVD

Maverick Entertainment released the thriller Magic Man on DVD on Jan. 11, 2011, for a suggested retail price of $24.98.

The 2009 independent film, directed by first-time helmer Roscoe Lever, features a veteran straight-to-DVD cast that you’ve just gotta love, including such familiar faces as Billy Zane (Titanic), Robert Davi (The Dukes), Armand Assante (Q & A), Richard Tyson (Jake’s Corner), Andrew Divoff (Air Force One) and Bai Ling (Love Ranch). Most of them have supporting roles in the film; the leading man is actually former Russian body builder Alexander Nevsky, who portrays a Las Vegas homicide detective.

The film follows Tatiana (Estelle Raskin), who, after witnessing her mother’s mysterious death during an illusion gone wrong, is determined to uncover the truth. But the truth is tangled in famous master magician Krell’s (Zane) charms, and Tatiana quickly finds herself under his spell. Could her mother’s death be Krell’s greatest trick? And could Tatiana be next?

No special features are on the DVD of Magic Man.
