Top Movies: Christmas Movie Advent Calendar

There’s a chill in the air and lots of deals in stores. Yep, we’re in the Christmas season. And to celebrate, the Disc Dish editors have compiled our list of top 25 Christmas movies. But to keep in the Christmas spirit — and celebrate one of the favorite parts of my childhood — we’ve put them in an Advent calendar and will be turning over one movie every day leading up to Christmas Day.

So, for the next 25 days, come celebrate with us right here, as each day we reveal another of our favorite Christmas movies.

Now, one note, we opted to include only movies, not Christmas TV specials, because for us, it’s a given that the old animated Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and A Charlie Brown Christmas are must-see programs this time of year. Instead, we’ve included movies that have one criteria: that Christmas is a big part of the plot. And, soppy as we are, we did give extra points for movies that embraced the Christmas spirit, even if just a little.

The calendar is in order of a Top 25 list, so the closer to Christmas we get, the more we love the movies. And, of course, we’ve saved our favorite for last. Any guesses what it is?
