New Release: Picture Me: A Model's Diary DVD

Strand Releasing released the fashion documentary Picture Me on DVD on Jan. 11, 2011, for the suggested retail price of $24.99.

Directed by Ole Schell and Sara Ziff, the film is a personal video diary that charts model Ziff’s rise from a “fresh face” to one that adorns billboards and magazines around the world.

The 2009 movie goes behind the scenes of the world of high fashion modeling, including its photo shoots and runway shows, and reveals the ever-increasing demand for adolescent models, the pressure to stay thin, sexual harassment and drug use. Among the footage are photo shoots with celebrated photographers and runway shows in New York, Milan and Paris.

The documentary also features interviews with noted photographers and designers and showcases personal footage shot by the models themselves. Making appearances in Picture Me are such noted catwalkers Missy Rayder, Cameron Russell, Diana Dondoe and Caitriona Balfe.

Bonus features on the DVD include footage from the movie’s premiere at the Gen Art Film Festival.
