New Release: Glee Season 2, Volume 1 DVD

The students and staff of McKinley High School returned to DVD on Jan. 25, 2011, when Glee: Season 2, Volume 1 was released by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

In the discs, TV’s most spectacular musical sensation starts another year of singing and dancing up a storm, despite a whole bunch of distractions and potential problems. For starters, school budget cuts and a setback at Regionals have thrown the kids a curveball, but the New Directions glee club is more energized than ever. As fresh romances develop and old ones are tested, the club embraces an exciting new year of challenges.

Glee: Season 2, Volume 1 contains the first 10 episodes of the season, along with special features and never-before-released footage, including a bonus song recorded exclusively for the DVD release.

Here’s a list of all the bonuses:

  • bonus song from The Rocky Horror Show episode of Glee, recorded exclusively for the DVD
  • Glee Music Jukebox
  • “Getting Waxed with Jane Lynch,” Sue Sylvester Madame Tussaud’s wax figure from modeling to ceremony
  • “The Wit of Brittany,” Brittany’s most “profound” moments from season one and the first half of season two
  • Glee at Comic-Con 2010

The discs carry a suggested retail price of $39.98 on DVD.

Glee: Season 2, Volume 2 and Glee: The Complete Second Season are slated to be released on DVD in the fall of 2011.
