New Release: An Affair to Remember Blu-ray Book

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment hoped to issue a title to remember with the Blu-ray release of the 1957 romance An Affair to Remember on Feb. 1, 2011.

The poignant and often humorous love story focuses on Cary Grant (The Bishop’s Wife) and Deborah Kerr (Black Narcissus), who meet on an ocean liner and fall deeply in love. Though each is engaged to someone else, they agree to meet six months later at the Empire State Building if they still feel the same way about each other. But a tragic accident prevents their rendezvous, and the lovers’ future takes an emotional and uncertain turn.

Directed by Leo McCarey, An Affair to Remember was nominated for four Academy Awards in 1958, including Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Music: Original Song and Best Music: Scoring.

The movie features limited edition Blu-ray book packaging and such bonus supplements as a commentary, featurettes and an extensive stills archive, all of which we’re pretty sure were featured on the DVD release several years back.
