New Release: Cool It DVD

The 2010 documentary Cool It takes on some pretty heavy-duty questions: Is our climate a catastrophe? Are the expensive actions dealing with global warming really helping to save the world — or are we just burning money? Are we approaching the end of civilization as we know it?

Lionsgate release the film on DVD on March 29, 2011, for a list price of $27.98.

Danish author and economist Bjørn Lomborg (writer of the best-selling 1998 book The Skeptical Environmentalist) tackles these queries and more in the controversial film by Ondi Timoner, which plays like a sort of rebuttal to the “answers” raised in the 2006 documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

Lomborg challenges viewers to look beyond talking points and to rethink the global warming debate. Specifically, Lomborg follows the money trail and asks, “Why are we spending so much money on “green” initiatives … for such little gain?” His responses to these issues are undeniably intriguing.

Special features on the DVD include 15 minutes of never-before-shown deleted scenes that further illuminate the film’s message.
