Pi ponders his family's shark-infested future in The Reef.

Vivendi debuted the 2006 animated family film The Reef on high-definition on March 8, 2011, as part of a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack for the suggested retail price of $24.99.

The movie, a South Korean/American co-production that was released around the world under the title of Shark Bait, features the voices of Freddie Prinze Jr. (TV’s 24), Even Rachel Wood (TV’s True Blood), Rob Schneider (Grown Ups), Andy Dick (TV’s NewsRadio) and Fran Drescher (TV’s The Nanny).

The film’s Finding Nemo-ish tale concerns a young fish named Pi (Prinze) who goes to live with his family on the Reef. He soon learns that their home is under siege by a pack of bullying sharks and, even worse, that the love of his life (Wood) has attracted the unwanted affections of one of the most powerful sharks in the pack. To win back his home and his love, Pi must follow his destiny to save her and rid the Reef of the shark menace for good.

No special features are on the Blu-ray/DVD release.

The movie was first released on DVD in the U.S. back in 2007 by The Weinstein Company.
