Liam Neeson action movie Unknown was released on DVD and Blu-ray on June 21, 2011, from Warner Home Video.
The thriller has a good premise: Neeson (The A-Team) goes to Berlin with his wife (January Jones, Pirate Radio) to give a science presentation, but when he wakes up in a hospital after a car accident, he discovers his identity has been stolen by another man (Aidan Quinn, The Eclipse), and even his wife is in on it. Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) plays an ally for Neeson and Frank Langella (All Good Things) is his usual calm bad guy.
Despite decent reviews, the PG-13 film wasn’t the run-away hit that Neeson’s Taken was in 2008, with $145 million. But Unknown, which is based on the novel by Didier van Cauwelaert, grossed a nice $61 million in theaters.
The DVD, priced at $28.98, includes just one special feature:
- the featurette “Unknown: What Is Known?.”
The Blu-ray is a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack with a downloadable digital copy, priced at $35.99. This version has two special features:
- the featurette “Unknown: What Is Known?”
- and featurette “Liam Neeson: Known Action Hero.”
