New Release: Chocolat Blu-ray

Chocolat

Johnny Depp gets sweet on Juliette Binoche in Chocolat.

Lionsgate released the delicious romantic movie Chocolat, starring Juliette Binoche (Summer Hours), Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Judi Dench (Nine) for the first time on Blu-ray on July 19, 2011.

Directed by Lasse Hallstrom (Dear John), the drama film centers on Vianne (Binoche), who arrives in a sleepy, old-fashioned French village and opens a chocolate shop. The resulting confectionary assault sends the townspeople into a flutter with her uniquely gifted treats. Before long, the straitlaced villagers find themselves abandoning their reservations and succumbing to their deepest desires!

Nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, Chocolat arrived on Blu-ray with a commentary, deleted scenes and featurettes, all of which were imported from the original DVD release.

The Blu-ray carries a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Chocolat has been released on Blu-ray already in Canada.
