New Release: 40 Days and 40 Nights Blu-ray

40 Days And 40 Nights movie scene

Josh Hartnett and Shannyn Sossaman enjoy one day in 40 Days And 40 Nights.

Lionsgate issued the not-bad romantic comedy 40 Days and 40 Nights, starring Josh Hartnett (The Black Dahlia) and Shannyn Sossaman (The Rules of Attraction), on Blu-ray on Sept. 6, 2011, for the list price of $19.99.

The release marks the 2002 film’s Blu-ray debut in the U.S. It has been previously released on Blu-ray on the AIS label in Canada.

Hartnett stars as studly young man Matt Sullivan, who challenges himself — and his libido — to go without sex for 40 days and nights for Lent. The plan proceeds according to his schedule until he meets Erica (Sossamon). His friends think he’s gonna crack and even Erica is unsure if he can do it, but Josh continues to hang in there.

Directed by Michael Lehmann of Heathers fame, the movie also stars Vinessa Shaw (Stag Night) and Monet Mazur (The Last International Playboy).

As a bonus feature, the Blu-ray disc contains the director’s commentary that appeared on the original DVD release of the film back in 2002.

Let’s see if you remember the trailer:
