New Release: Scary Movie 2 and Scary Movie 3 Blu-ray

Anna Faris (ctr.) is ripe for a parody in Scary Movie 2.

A pair of movies in the ever-zany Scary Movie franchiseScary Movie 2 (2001) and Scary Movie 3 (2003), both starring the irresistible Anna Faris (Take Me Home Tonight) — will make their U.S. Blu-ray debuts courtesy of Lionsgate on Sept. 20.

Scary Movie 2 Blu-ray and Scary Movie 3: Unrated Blu-ray will carry the list price of $14.99 each.

We don’t have to remind you that the Scary Movie comedies take potshots at the hot horror movies of the day, which, in the case of these two, include such well-known films as Stigmata, The Ring, The Others and, of course, Scream, the film that was originally parodied in the first Scary Movie installment.

Scary Movie 2 was directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, while David Zucker took the helm for Scary Movie 3. The latter is definitely the better film of the two as Zucker successfully injected more of the comedic deadpan style of his Naked Gun and Airplane! films into the proceedings.

Each Blu-ray edition comes loaded with the bonus features that appeared on the preivuolsy released DVD versions of the films. These extras include deleted scenes, featurettes and audio commentaries.
