Saoirse Ronan is ready for action in Hanna.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment released the 2011 action-thriller movie Hanna, starring Saoirse Ronan (The Way Back), Eric Bana (The Time Traveler’s Wife) and Cate Blanchett (Robin Hood), on Blu-ray and DVD on Sept. 6, 2011.

The film focuses on the adolescent girl Hanna (Ronan), who has being raised by her father Erik (Bana), an ex-CIA agent, in the wilds of Finland. Having trained his daughter to be the perfect assassin, Erik decides its time for her to show what she’s got, and so he sends her out into the world on a mission. Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe, eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Blanchett). As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna learns startling revelations about her past, all of which could greatly alter her future.

Also starring Jason Flemyng (X-Men: First Class) and Olivia Williams (The Ghost Writer), Hanna was directed by Joe Wright, who worked with young Ms. Ronan before in his 2007 film Atonement and will collaborate with her again in the upcoming Anna Karenina.

Hanna received a wide release in theaters in April and grossed some $40 million at the domestic box office.
