Michael Sheen and Maria Bello's strained marriage is put to the ultimate test in Beautiful Boy.

Anchor Bay turned up the drama with the release of the 2010 film Beautiful Boy, starring Maria Bello (Grown Ups) and Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon), on Oct. 11, 2011, on Blu-ray and DVD. The discs have the list prices of $29.99 and $26.98, respectively.

The movie focuses on the unhappily married Bill (Sheen) and Kate (Bello) and how, on the verge of separation, their already-strained marriage is tested when they learn that their 18-year-old son committed a mass shooting at his college and then took his own life. The life-altering tragedy forces Bill and Kate to face their feelings of guilt, rage, blame and self-discovery while they brave the endless scrutiny of their friends, family and the public.

The first theatrical film co-written and directed by Shawn Ku, Beautiful Boy also features Alan Tudyk (Conviction), Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation), Kyle Gallner (Cougars Inc.) and Meat Loaf (Citizen Jane).

Released in the U.S. on only a handful of screens in early June, the R-rated movie Beautiful Boy received respectable reviews from critics.

Bonus features on the Blu-ray and DVD include deleted scenes and an audio commentary with Shawn Ku, editor Chad Galster and cinematographer Michael Fimognari.
