Zoe Saldana is gunning for vengeance in Colombiana.
Zoe Saldana (Avatar) stars as a fiery assassin in the action thriller film Colombiana.
Saldana portrays Cataleya, a young woman in Chicago who has grown up to be an assassin after, as a child, witnessing the murder of her parents. Turning herself into a professional killer and working for her uncle Cliff Curtis (TV’s Trauma), she remains focused on her ultimate goal: to hunt down and get revenge on the Colombian mobster responsible for her parents’ death.
The La Femme Nikita-ish film is directed by Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3) and co-written and produced by the always-busy Luc Besson (From Paris With Love), who, not surprisingly, wrote and directed 1990’s La Femme Nikita!
Co-stars include Michael Vartan (TV’s Hawthorne), Jordi Molla (Knight and Day) and Lenni James (Snatch).
Both the Blu-ray and DVD contain the R rated theatrical version of the film (which grossed a modest $36 million in its wide release to U.S. theaters in August 2011) along with an unrated version that adds in three additional minutes of footage.
