The Legend of Hell's Gate movie scene

Eric Balfour (l.) and Henry Thomas are out for riches in The Legend of Hell's Gate.

Greed and crime are the order of the day in the action-filled 2011 Western film The Legend of Hell’s Gate.

Inspired by a true story, the Texas-based Legend of Hell’s Gate looks at the mystery of the events surrounding the legendary Hell’s Gate, a cliff formation that rises out of Possum Kingdom Lake in Texas. According to legend, a curious errand boy (Lou Taylor Pucci, The Music Never Stopped) catches wind of one of America’s most infamous crimes – the assassination of Abraham Lincoln – and falls in with two desperate men on the wrong side of the law (Skyline‘s Eric Balfour and Dear John‘s Henry Thomas). Crossing paths with some of the West’s most notorious figures, the three outlaws fight for their lives in the pursuit of the fame and riches that are connected to Possum Kingdom Lake.

Written and directed by Tanner Beard and co-starring Jenna Dewan-Channing (TV’s The Playboy Club) and Summer Glau (TV’s The Cape), the movie played at a couple of Stateside festivals in 2011, but make its U.S. commercial premier on DVD and Blu-ray.

Bonus features on the discs include deleted scenes and a photo gallery.
