Ashley Hinshaw makes an all-too-adult career for herself in About Cherry.

Lovely up-and-coming starlet Ashley Hinshaw stars in the 2012 independent drama film About Cherry.

Ms. Hinshaw stars as high school student Angelina, whose choices lead her from a depressing home life and dead-end job in Los Angeles to San Francisco. In  the Bay Area, Angelina gets a job dancing at a strip club, which leads to a job acting in a soft-core pornography, and then, ultimately, in a hardcore film.

Appearing in supporting roles are Lili Taylor (Being Flynn) as Angelina’s manic and opportunistic mother, Jonny Weston (Chasing Mavericks) as her sexy but sleazy boyfriend, Dev Patel (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) as her best friend, James Franco (127 Hours) as a coke-addicted attorney who spots Angelina at a strip club, and Heather Graham (Son of Morning) as a female porn director who launches “Cherry’s” adult film career.

Directed and co-written by Stephen Elliott, About Cherry screened at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2012 before enjoying a limited run in U.S. theaters last September. Reviews were mixed for the R-rated movie, but that hasn’t stopped Ms. Hinshaw, who’s frequently unclad in the movie, from becoming an internet sensation.

No bonus features have been announced for the title.
