Barbra Streisand is Fanny Brice in Funny Lady

Barbra Streisand is Fanny Brice in Funny Lady

Barbra Streisand (The Way We Were) stars in the 1975 musical comedy drama Funny Lady, the follow-up to 1968’s award-winning Funny Girl, which continues the saga of sterling entertainer Fanny Brice (Streisand), as fabled on-stage as she was unlucky in love.

Divorced from love-of-her-life gambler Nick Arnstein (Omar Sharif, Lawrence of Arabia), Fanny now finds herself entangled with brash showman/songwriter Billy Rose, pugnaciously incarnated by James Caan (Thief).

Directed by Herbert Ross (Nijinsky) , Funny Lady was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Cinematography (by the legendary James Wong Howe of Sweet Smell of Success fame) and Best Song (“How Lucky Can You Get,” from Cabaret’s John Kander and Fred Ebb).

Twilight Time’s Blu-ray debut of the film includes the following special features:

-In Search of a Star
-The New Look of Barbra in Funny Lady
-Dancing on the Water
-Original Theatrical Trailer

As supplier Twilight Time prints up only 3,000 copies of each title, the time to order your Blu-ray discs directly from distributor Screen Archives is NOW!
