Writer-director Steve Kloves made his spectacular directorial début with The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989), a music-drenched romance-comedy starring real-life brothers Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski) and Beau Bridges (The Descendants).

The-Fabulous-Baker-Boys-006The siblings portray Jack and Frank, a pair of tapped-out sibling lounge pianists who travel the country playing local upscale-ish joints. Looking to perk up their act, they take on a girl singer in the person of a tough little cookie, Susie Diamond (Michelle Pfeiffer, Dark Shadows). But even as the trio finds success, long-buried problems between the brothers rise to the surface, sparked by the wary romance between Jack and Susie.
