Vincent Cassel lays down the law in Partisan.

In the movie, Alexander (Jeremy Chabriel), is an 11-year old boy who has been raised in a sequestered dystopian commune after being adopted by the society’s charismatic and domineering leader Gregori (Vincent Cassel, Trance). When Alexander’s increasing unwillingness to fall in line puts him on a collision course with Gregori, this causes him to become Gregori’s primary focus as his star pupil – a trained assassin forced to kill those outside their commune in order to keep their community safe.

Artisan won the Cinematography Award for World Cinema – Dramatic at the Sundance Film Festival, but it didn’t exactly rock with the critics during its Stateside run, receiving a cumulative 5.8 rating at Rotten Tomatoes based upon 29 published reviews.

Bonus materials include interviews with the director Kleiman and star Cassel.
