Based on the international best-selling novel by Liz Jensen, the mystery surrounding a death-defying young boy is the focus of the thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax.

Aiden Longworth and Aaron Paul in The 9th Life of Louis Drax

After surviving eight near-death accidents throughout his unlucky life, Louis Drax (Aiden Longworth) plunges off a steep cliff on his ninth birthday. While police investigate the cause of Louis’s near-fatal fall and the whereabouts of his violent father, Peter (Aaron Paul, TV’s Breaking Bad), acclaimed neurologist Dr. Allan Pascal (Jamie Dornan, 50 Shades of Grey) uses unorthodox techniques to try to tap into the boy’s unconscious mind and reveal the truth about the events that led to his condition. But as he’s drawn deeper and deeper into the mystery of Louis’s seeming ability to cheat death, the doctor finds himself falling for Louis’s mother, Natalie (Sarah Gadon, Maps to the Stars). As new clues emerge in the case, a shocking revelation changes the fates of Louis Drax and everyone around him.

Directed by Alexandre Aja (Piranha), with a first-time screenplay by actor Max Minghella (The Social Network), the film also features Barbara Hershey (The Last Temptation of Christ) and Oliver Platt (Chef) in its cast.

The discs contain a “Making of The 9th Life of Louis Drax” featurette as a bonus feature.
