Andie MacDowell (Daydream Nation) and Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids) star in the 2017 drama Love After Love, which looks at the aftermath of a family tragedy and what happens to a person after losing the foundation of a his or her family.

In the wake of a husband and father’s death, the family members he leaves behind find themselves adrift – and in danger of drifting apart – as they each try to find meaning in a world without the man who held them together. Suzanne (MacDowell) tentatively seeks companionship – but her attempts at dating only drive a wedge between her and older son Nicholas (O’Dowd), whose own relationship with his girlfriend is disintegrating. Meanwhile, younger son Chris (James Adomian, BoJack Horseman) deals with grief in his own complicated – and increasingly worrying – way.

What plays out on the screen caught the eyes of the critics, who awarded the film an impressive 88% Fresh at reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes based on 24 published write-ups this past April.

The winner of the cinematography award at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival, the DVD incarnation of Love After Love–directed and co-written by Russell Harbaugh–includes Harbaugh’s short film Rolling on the Floor Laughing.
