From 1984 comes the forgotten (pretty much…), underrated horror/sci-fi-tinged thriller Impulse.

When Jennifer (Meg Tilly, The Big Chill) and her boyfriend Stuart (Tim Matheson, Animal House) return to her idyllic hometown, they discover that all boundaries of civility seem to have eroded. Mystified by the actions of normally kind townspeople who are suddenly driven to extremes of irrational—and violent—behavior, Jennifer and Stuart attempt to get to the bottom of the increasingly life-threatening chaos… before it destroys them. Can anyone say chemical poisoning?

Directed with flair by Graham Baker (Alien Nation), this undeniably disturbing and quiet piece also features Bill Paxton (Titanic) and Hume Cronyn (Cocoon).

Kino Lorber’s new editions of the film come from a new HD master taken from a 4K scan of the original camera negative!
