The 1993 cult thriller road movie Kalifornia returns to Blu-ray in a sterling new Collector’s Edition from Shout! Factory.

When insufferably hip urban intellectuals Brian (Californication‘s David Duchovny, sporting an earring and a serious sense of wonderment) and Carrie (True Blood‘s Michelle Forbes, who dons all manner of black underwear) set out on a cross-country trip to research a book about serial killers, they share the ride with a couple they barely know — Early Grayce (an impressively sleazy Brad Pitt of World War Z fame) and his girlfriend Adele (Cape Fear‘s Juliette Lewis, delivering her trademark ditzy shtick). Locked in a car hurtling westward, the four travelers struggle to find some common ground. But when they finally do connect, Early’s violent nature abruptly emerges and the terrified Brian and Carrie realize that they don’t need to go very far to learn about ruthless killers…
