Gordon Douglas (Harlow) directs an all-star cast in Stagecoach, a handsome remake of the 1939 Western classic about a motley group of travelers – alcoholic doctor, brassy dance-hall girl, mysterious gambling man, meek whiskey drummer, pregnant cavalry wife, absconding banker and the glamorously antiheroic Ringo Kid among them – on the road to Cheyenne, struggling with bands of marauding Sioux, a gang of outlaws and the turmoil of the own personal dramas.

Starring Slim Pickens (Dr. Strangelove), Bing Crosby (King of Jazz), Bob Cummings (Sleep, My Love), Ann-Margret (Magic), Red Buttons (Sayonara), Mike Connors (My Favorite Spy) and Stefanie Powers (TV’s Hart to Hart) and shot by the great William H. Clothier (Cheyenne Autumn, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance), Twilight Time’s Blu-ray edition of the film features a gorgeous Americana-flavored score by Jerry Goldsmith (available here as an isolated track, along with an audio commentary with film historians Lee Pfeiffer and Paul Scrabo
