Based on a true story, Chinese climbers make a historic summit up Mount Everest turn in the adventure-drama The Climbers.

The film is essentially a cinematic retelling of the first Chinese climbers to summit Mount Everest – the first ever to do so from the North Ridge, which is generally regarded as the most challenging side of the mountain. It’s a perilous journey that takes its toll on the mountaineers, physically and mentally, forcing them to make life or death decisions at every turn.

Directed by Daniel Lee (Three Kingdoms, 14 Blades), this unrated Chinese film stars Wu Jing (Kill Zone 2) and Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), with a guest appearance by up-and-comer Jackie Chan (Police Story).
