New release: True Blood Season 2 DVD and Blu-ray

True Blood Season 2 sceneSeason two of HBO’s Golden Globe and Emmy winning vampire drama True Blood was released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 25, 2010, by Warner Home Video, packed with extras.

According to HBO, season 1 was the best-selling TV show on DVD in 2009.

All 12 episodes from the season will be included in the True Blood: The Complete Second Season set, which was priced at $59.99 on DVD and $79.98 on Blu-ray.

Both versions include two featurettes:

  • “Fellowship of the Sun: Reflections of Light,” serving up the show’s characters’ “rules to live by,”
  • and “The Vampire Report: Special Edition,” highlighting vampire news, pop culture and politics.

Also on the extras menu for both the DVD and Blu-ray are audio commentaries with star Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard and others.

The high-definition Blu-ray offers up an Enhanced Viewing option, showing picture-in-picture content with the episodes. Also on tap are “Character Perspectives,” “Flashback/Flash Forward” to pivotal scenes, “Pro/Anti-Vampire Feeds” with news updates from the American Vampire League and the Light of Day organization and “Hints/FYI” with trivia and show clues.
