New Release: Family Guy It’s a Trap DVD and Blu-ray

Family Guy: It's a Trap DVD boxFox’s hit animated TV show Family Guy‘s third Star Wars spoof, It’s a Trap! — based on Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi — was delivered to DVD and Blu-ray on Dec. 21, 2010, from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

From creator Seth MacFarlane, the DVD movie includes Family Guy‘s usual cast of characters, with Chris playing Luke Skywalker, Lois as Princess Leia, Peter as Hans Solo, Joe as Jabba the Hutt and, of course, Stewie as Darth Vader.

It’s a Trap also features such cameo voices as Patrick Stewart and Michael Dorn reprising their roles from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Batman‘s Adam West, Princess Leia herself Carrie Fisher and talk radio host Rush Limbaugh as the large carnivorous reptomammal, the rancor.

The movie title, It’s a Trap, refers to a line by the movie’s Admiral Ackbar in Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi.

Family Guy‘s earlier Star Wars satires were 2005’s Family Guy: Blue Harvest and last year’s Family Guy: Something Something Something Dark Side.

It’s a Trap also was released on DVD and Blu-ray in triple-packs with the first two movies.
