New Release: The Bee Gees In Our Own Time DVD and Blu-ray

The Bee Gees: In Our Own Time DVD boxThe Bee Gees are back in the documentary The Bee Gees: In Our Own Time, which came to DVD and Blu-ray on Nov. 16, 2010, from Eagle Rock Entertainment.

The movie looks back at the Gibb brothers’ 50-year career of music, with new interviews with Barry Gibb and Robin Gibb, as well as footage of Maurice Gibb shot shortly before his 2003 death.

In the film, the Gibb brothers talk about their highs and lows, from their childhood stardom in their native Australia, their first success in london, their break-up and reunion, their fame from their songs in the John Travolta movie Saturday Night Fever and their work as songwriters for the likes of Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.

The brothers also talk candidly about the life and death of their other brother, Andy Gibb, who had a solo singing career.

As well as interviews, the 116-minute documentary tells the story of the singers’ family business, from the 1960s to the present, with TV and film clips, live performances and early, rare videos of the band.

The Bee Gees: In Our Own Times aired on A&E on Nov. 20, 2010, and the DVD and Blu-ray release arrived the same day as a four-CD boxed set called Mythology from Rhino Entertainment.

The DVD was priced at $14.98 and the Blu-ray at $19.98.
