New Release: Due Date DVD and Blu-ray

Due Date movie sceneComedy movie Due Date, starring the unlikely pairing of Robert Downey Jr. (Chaplin, Iron Man 2) and Zach Galifianakis (Dinner for Schmucks), debuted on DVD and Blu-ray on Feb. 22, 2011, from Warner Home Video.

Directed by The Hangover helmer Todd Phillips, Due Date is a road trip film in which — like all good road trips films — everything goes wrong. Straight-laced businessman Downey Jr. is trying to fly home for the birth of his first child with wife Michelle Monaghan (Made of Honor), but after he gets kicked off the flight and put on the no-fly list thanks to an argument with Galifianakis, an aspiring actor who’s the polar opposite to Downey Jr., the two have only one option to get to Los Angeles: ride across country together. The film also stars Jamie Foxx (Ray), Danny McBride (Up in the Air) and Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers, Conviction).

The R-rated film grossed a very tidy $95 million in theaters, and it came to DVD ($28.98) and Blu-ray ($35.99) with some fun looking special features.

The DVD only includes a gag reel, but the Blu-ray (a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack with digital copy), comes with the full list:

  • gag reel
  • deleted scenes
  • “Action Mashup”
  • “Too Many Questions Mashup”
  • and the sequence from TV’s Two and a Half Men starring Galifianakis’ Ethan Tremblay.
