New Release: Somewhere DVD and Blu-ray

Somewhere movie sceneDrama movie Somewhere, from Academy Award-winning writer/director Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation) was released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 19, 2011.

The movie follows actor Johnny Marco (Stephen Dorff, Public Enemies), who lives in the legendary Chateau Marmont hotel and fills his life between jobs with drinking, parties and woman to stem his boredom. But when his ex-wife leaves their 11-year-old daughter (Elle Fanning, Phoebe in Wonderland) with him for a visit, Johnny beghins to re-examine his life.

The R-rated film, which is distributed by Universal Studios Home Entertainment, had a limited release in theaters, grossing $1.7 million.

The DVD and Blu-ray were priced at $29.98 and $39.98, respectively.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray contain a making-of featurette including interviews with Doff and Coppola. The Blu-ray also will offers Universal’s usual interactive Blu-ray apps:

  • BD-Live access
  • Pocket Blu to allow smartphones to be used as remote controls, play video timelines, download bonus content and more
  • My Scenes bookmarking feature
  • and UHear, so you don’t miss any dialog.
