New Release: Fair Game DVD and Blu-ray

Fair Game movie sceneThe movie based on the true events around the outing of CIA spy Valerie Plame, the critically acclaimed drama Fair Game was released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 29, 2011, from Summit Entertainment.

Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity), the independent film stars Naomi Watts (Mother and Child) as Plame and Sean Penn (Carlito’s Way) as her husband, retired ambassador Joe Wilson.

After Wilson wrote a newspaper article challenging the basis of the U.S. war on Iraq, the White House leaked Plame’s undercover status, damaging her operations in the field, endangering her international contacts and leaving her life and career in shambles. The film follows the couple as they deal with the situation.

Rated PG-13, Fair Game had a limited release in theaters and grossed $9.4 million.

The real Valerie Plame-Wilson wrote the memoir on which the movie is based, and Plame-Wilson and the real Wilson recorded a commentary for the DVD and Blu-ray.

The DVD was priced at $22.99 and the Blu-ray at $30.49.
