New Release: Robot Chicken Star Wars 3 DVD and Blu-ray

Robot Chicken Star Wars 3Robot Chicken parodied Star Wars again — and we can’t get enough! Sorry, Family Guy (we do seriously love you), but Robot Chicken is brilliant at making fun of our favorite space oddysey, and honoring it at the same time. Robot Chicken Star Wars 3 debuted on DVD and Blu-ray on July 12, 2011, from Warner Home Video.

This third hour-long Star Wars special looks at the lives of Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, Boba Fett and Gary the Stormtrooper and how they interconnect in all six Star Wars films. Darth Vader doing disco? Awesome!

Even better, the TV special comes with plenty of special features on both the DVD and Blu-ray. Here’s the full list for the DVD:

  • interview with George Lucas
  • Chicken Nuggets (sketch by sketch video commentary)
  • behind the scenes
  • voice recording featurette
  • Star Wars Celebration V Robot Chicken panel
  • Skywalker Ranch Premiere Trip
  • Writer’s Room featurette
  • deleted animatics w/video intros
  • audio commentaries

The Blu-ray has all those plus two exclusive extras:

  • Time Lapses of Animation
  • Seth Green Animation Reference

Looks like a great lineup.

The DVD was priced at $14.98 and the Blu-ray at $19.98.

Is this on your must-have list?
