New Release: Something Borrowed DVD and Blu-ray

Something BorrowedRomantic comedy Something Borrowed, starring Kate Hudson (Almost Famous), Ginnifer Goodwin (TV’s Big Love) and Colin Egglesfield (TV’s Melrose Place), debuted on DVD and as a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack on Aug. 16, 2011. Warner Home Video priced the discs at $27.87 and $35.99, respectively.

The movie, which is based on the novel by Emily Griffin, tells the story of Rachel (Goodwin), a loyal friend to Darcy (Hudson). On her 30th birthday, Rachel ends up in the arms of Dax (Egglesfield), the guy she has had a crush on since law school, problem is, he’s Darcy’s fiance. The Office‘s John Krasinski also stars in the film.

The PG-13-rated movie grossed $38 million in theaters, lower than many romantic comedies, such as Hudson’s Bride Wars, which took in $114 million. But Something Burrowed got pretty dismal reviews, with New Yorker critic Richard Brody called it a “joke-stoked soap opera.”

The Blu-ray/DVD combo includes a downloadable digital copy of the film.
