A Very Harold & Kumar ChristmasThe third movie in the comedy franchise, A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas finds the stoner buds (John Cho of TV’s FlashForward and Kal Penn, TV’s House M.D.) accidentally burning down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree.

It’s six years after the pals were caught in Guantanemo Bay (the second film), leaving Harold and Kumar estranged from each other. But they get pulled back into trouble when Kumar arrives on Harold’s doorstep with a mysterious package and burns down the tree. They then head off on a mission through New York City to find the perfect Christmas tree and, of course, getting into plenty more trouble.

Rated R, the movie also features Patton Oswalt (Young Adult), Danny Trejo (Machete), Elias Koteas (Dream House) and Neil Patrick Harris (TV’s How I Met Your Mother) again playing himself.

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas wasn’t a sell-out in theaters, but it grossed a nice $34 million — reportedly close to double the movie’s budget.

And critics gave the film their approval. According to Minneapolis Star Tribune‘s Colin Covert, the movie “will stuff your stocking with profane, perverse, politically incorrect glee.” Sounds good to us.

Both the Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack and the Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack include a digital copy available through Ultraviolet instant streaming redeemable by Feb. 7, 2014.

Check out the trailer, with all it’s troublesome fun:
