The Best Exotic Marigold HotelSome of the Britain’s best actors are collected in the comedy movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Judi Dench (My Week With Marilyn), Tom Wilkinson (The Debt), Bill Nighy (Wrath of the Titans), Maggie Smith (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2), Celia Imrie (Nanny McPhee) and Penelope Wilton (TV’s Downton Abbey) play retirees who are enticed by an ad for The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel in India. They travel to the country only to find their new home isn’t quite what they expected. But as they face their adversities, the magic of India and the passion of the young man (Dev Patel, Slumdog Millionaire) running the hotel helps each of the older residents grow.

Based on the novel by Deborah Moggach, the movie was directed by John Madden, who brought the same charm to 1998’s Shakespeare in Love.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel was well reviewed by critics, with high scores for the cast, naturally. Audiences applauded the film as well, helping it gross $43 million in the U.S., $125 million worldwide. Not bad for a movie with a production budget of $10 million.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray contain these special features:

  • “Behind the Story: Lights, Colors and Smiles”
  • “Casting Legends”

The Blu-ray adds:

  • “Welcome to the Real Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”
  • “Trekking to India: ‘Life Is Never the Same'”
  • “Tuk Tuk Travels”
