Devious MaidsDesperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry takes another look at the Los Angeles suburbs through the help in Devious Maids.

The ABC TV show follows five Latina maids working for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills.

Aspiring singer Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez, Act of Valor) works for musician Alejandro (Matt Cedeño, TV’s Days of Our Lives). Longing to be reunited with the son she left in Mexico, Rosie (Dania Ramirez, Premium Rush) works for actors Spence (Grant Show, The Posession) and Peri Westmore (Mariana Klaveno, TV’s True Blood). Zoila and her daughter Valentina work for the ditsy Genevieve Delatour (Susan Lucci, TV’s All My Children). And finally there’s Marisol, who works for the odd Evelyn (Rebecca Wisocky, TV’s The Mentalist) and Adrian Powell (TV’s Saving Grace) but is secretly trying to find out who framed her son for a murder she’s convinced he didn’t commit.

As well as Marc Cherry, Devious Maids has another Desperate Housewives connection in that it’s executive produced by DH star Eva Longoria.

The DVD comes with all 13 episodes of the first season plus a bunch of special features:

  • bloopers
  • deleted scenes
  • extended scenes
  • and the featurette “Devious Maids 30310,” about the cast and crew shooting on location in Atlanta, Georgia, even though the action is set in Beverly Hills 90210.
