The Equation of Life movie scene

Gerry Orz and Kaitlin Morgan in The Equation of Life.

The 2014 biographical short film drama The Equation of Life is produced, written and co-directed by 11-year-old filmmaker Gerry Orz.

When 11-year-old Adam (Orz) is bullied in his new town on his way to school, he begins to video journal his daily experiences. When he finally takes matters into his own hands, everyone around him is affected. His parents, his sister, the bully and his mother… they all pay a price for their actions.

An official selection at the Kids First Film Festival and a popular hit on Youtube (it racked up 11,000 views upon its viral release), The Equation of Life relays an anti-bullying message, along with a bigger statement about the decisions children and adults make and the paths they choose to travel.

The DVD of The Equation of Life includes the following half-hour of bonus features:

  • Intro by Gerry Orz, Day of Silence (short film by Gerry Orz),
  • CA State Senate 2012, CA State Senate 2013
