The Devi's Rock movie scene

Nastier than my ex: Gina Varela is a Nazi demoness in The Devil's Rock.

A shapely Nazi demoness ignites a bloody World War II battle from Hell in The Devil’s Rock, a 2011 action-horror war movie from New Zealand.

The film has a pretty straight-ahead albeit colorful story: On the eve of D-Day, two Allied commandos (Craig Hall of 30 Days of Night and Joseph Tane of TV’s  Spartacus: Blood and Sand) are sent to destroy a German gun installation. Moving forward on their mission, the pair uncover a secret occult lair housing a mysterious Nazi officer (Matthew Sunderland, Under the Mountain) and his beautiful but devilish captive (sexy Gina Varela). Well, it turns out the Nazis are actually hiding a deadly she-demon, whom they plan to use to turn the tide of the war.

The Devil’s Rock marks the directorial debut of special effects veteran (The Lord of the Rings trilogy ) Paul Champion, who calls upon all his skills to craft a bloody, Mephistophelean  battle that transpires at the film’s climax. The movie’s special effects and make-up come courtesy of the New Zealand’s five-time Academy Award-winning WETA Workshop (Avatar, The Lord of the Rings.

The Devil’s Rock played a handful genre film festivals around the world but is premiering in the U.S. on DVD.
