The new Blu-ray edition of Guillermo del Toro’s (Pan’s Labyrinth) 1997 sci-fi/horror mutant cockroach movie Mimic: The Director’s Cut starring Mira Sorvino has arrived disc, and Lionsgate has provided Disc Dish with two – 2 – Blu-ray copies to give away to a pair of lucky readers!

Del Toro has long been dissatisfied with Mimic, his second feature film, which had a troubled production and eventually re-editing by producers and distributors Miramax. Mimic: The Director’s Cut offers del Toro’s re-edited version of the film, an insightful and quite candid commentary track and a newly produced documentary that explores Mimic‘s legacy. He describes the director’s cut as being “as close as we’re ever going to get” to the movie he originally set out to make.
