The Muppet MovieThe movie that started them all is one of the last in the franchise to get a Blu-ray release. This high-definition version 1979’s The Muppet Movie is a “Nearly 35th Anniversary Edition.”

Rated G, the family film follows Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of the gang on the road to pursue their dreams of Hollywood. Agent Dom DeLuise encourages the group, but along the way, Kermit’s also chased by a frog-leg merchant.

The Muppet Movie features the characters’ original voices, by creater Jim Henson, Frank Oz and others. And the film was nominated for two Academy Awards, for its musical score and the song “The Rainbow Connection.”

The Blu-ray contains special features, including “Disney Intermission,” as well as a downloadable digital copy of the movie.
