Based on Catherine Marshall’s 1951 book about her husband, the preacher Peter Marshall, the 1955 drama A Man Called Peter tells the inspiring story of the Scots-born minister (a terrific Richard Todd) who emigrated to America, ultimately becoming pastor at Washington, DC’s New York Avenue Presbyterian Church and Chaplain of the United States Senate.
At the same time, the film is an out-and-out romance, detailing the touching relationship between Peter and Catherine (the vibrant Jean Peters of Broken Lance fame).
Veteran Henry Koster (Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation) directs, and Alfred Newman provides an appropriately soaring musical score, available on this Twilight Time release as an isolated track.
The following special features are included on the Blu-ray:
-Isolated Music Track
-Audio Sermon by Peter Marshall
-Fox Movietone Newsreels
-Original Theatrical Trailer
