New Release: Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel DVD and Blu-ray

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel movie sceneThose lovable singing chipmunks are back. 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment released Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel on DVD and Blu-ray March 30, 2010.

Like Sony’s family movie Planet 51, Squeakquel‘s Blu-ray is a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack including a digital copy of the movie. The studio priced the set at $39.99. On DVD, Fox’s movie is available as a single disc ($29.98) and a “Squeak Along” two-pack ($34.98).

In this follow-up to the 2007 movie, the chipmunks go to school to fit in with kids their age and find some competition in a trio of beautiful chipmunks called the Chipettes. Jason Lee (The Incredibles), David Cross (Megamind) and Zachary Levi (Tangled) star.

The family film grossed $212 million in theaters.

The DVD two-pack has all these except the album maker, song trivia and music videos, and the single DVD has only the Munk Music Machine and Music Mania featurette.
