Blu-ray, DVD Release: Letters to Juliet

Letters to Juliet movie sceneSummit Entertainment issued the romantic comedy Letters to Juliet on a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and a single-DVD on Sept. 14, 2010. Starring Amanda Seyfried (Chloe), Gael Garcia Bernal (Y Tu Mamá Tambien), Christopher Egan (TV’s Kings) and Vanessa Redgrave (Atonement), the movie was released theatrically last spring and grossed $52 million at the domestic box office.

Directed by Gary Winick (Bride Wars), Letters to Juliet is set in Verona, Italy — the beautiful city where Romeo met Juliet. Verona has a place where the heartbroken can leave notes asking Juliet for her help. It’s there that aspiring writer Sophie (Seyfried) finds a 50-year-old letter that will change her life. As Sophie sets off on a romantic journey of the heart with the letter’s author, Claire (Redgrave), now a grandmother, and Claire’s handsome grandson (Egan), all three will discover that sometimes the greatest love story is your own.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray versions of Letters to Juliet contain the following special features:

  • deleted and extended scenes
  • an audio commentary with the director and cast
  • and two making-of featurettes.

The Blu-ray/DVD combo disc carries a suggested retail price of $40.99, while the standard DVD version was priced at $26.99.
