New Release: The Experiment DVD and Blu-ray

Action, drama and psychological thrills are promised in The Experiment, starring Adrien Brody (Predators) and Forest Whitaker (Repo Men), which was released on DVD and Blu-ray on Sept. 21, 2010, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film also stars Clifton Collins Jr. (The Boondock Saints: All Saint’s Day), Cam Gigandet (Twilight) and Maggie Grace (TV’s Lost).

Written and directed by Paul T. Scheuring (TV’s Prison Break) and based on the novel by Mario Giordano, The Experiment unfolds when 24 men are chosen to participate in a two-week research project in which they take on the roles of guards and prisoners in a study designed to evaluate the affects of power and control. Values are tested and lines are crossed when seemingly normal participants are pushed to the breaking point as the experiment spirals out of control.

A remake of the critically lauded 2001 German film Das Experiment directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, the R-rated The Experiment was priced on Blu-ray at $30.95 and DVD at $24.96.

The 96-minute movie did not get a theatrical run, so its DVD and Blu-ray release was its premiere to audiences.
