New Release: Troll 2 DVD and Blu-ray

Frequently regarded by bad movie enthusiasts as the worst movie ever made, Troll 2 was issued in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and as an individual DVD on Oct. 5, 2010, courtesy of MGM Home Entertainment and distributor 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. The releases were priced at $19.99 and $14.98, respectively.

The subject of a fan-favorite documentary entitled — not surprisingly — Best Worst Movie, 1990’s Troll 2 is, well, a bad 1990 fantasy/horror flick about a young boy who learns that his vacationing family are being stalked by a bunch of goblins who turn people into vegetables and then devour him. He realizes this when he discovers that the town in which they’re staying, “Nilbog,” is actually “goblin” spelled backwards.

Really.

Bad story, bad acting, bad direction, really bad effects and costumes — it’s all here. And it’s a lot of fun for everyone, though we’re still not sure how this bad movie — Troll 2 — beat all the other bad movies in the “fans” eyes. There are just so many bad ones….
