New Release: The Outlaw Josey Wales, Firefox, Any Which Way You Can Blu-ray

The Outlaw Josey Wales movei sceneThree films starring the legendary Clint Eastwood made their Blu-ray debuts from Warner Home Video on June 7, 2011: The Outlaw Josey Wales, Any Which Way You Can, and Firefox.

The Outlaw Josey Wales Blu-ray carries a list price of $34.99. The other two films were released as part of double-feature sets with titles that have been previously been issued  on Blu-ray: The Firefox/Heartbreak Ridge double-feature Blu-ray carries a list price of $19.98; the Every Which Way But Loose/Any Which Way You Can double-feature Blu-ray has a list price of $19.98.

The Outlaw Josey Wales, the 1976 Eastwood-directed Civil War-era Western, was issued as a branded Warner Digibook release, featuring hardcover packaging adorned with color pictures, essays and trivia. Josey Wales also containa a host of special features, including the following:

  • Clint Eastwood’s West, a newly produced documentary featuring Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Oliver Stone, and James Mangold
  • new commentary track by film critic Richard Schickel
  • introduction from Clint Eastwood
  • Hell Hath No Fury: The Making of The Outlaw Josey Wales” featurette
  • “Eastwood in Action” vintage featurette
  • trailer

The orangutan-friendly comedy Any Which Way You Can (1980), a sequel to 1978’s equally primate-happy Every Which Way But Loose, was released as a double-feature Blu-ray with the original film. (Every Which Way But Loose has been previously issued as a stand-alone Blu-ray).

The 1982 espionage/fighter plane thriller Firefox was released as part of a double-feature with the 1986 Marine bootcamp adventure film Heartbreak Ridge, which has also been previously released on Blu-ray. Both films were directed by Eastwood.

There’s one bonus feature included on the Firefox disc: the vintage featurette “Clint Eastwood: Director.”
